I first had this smoothie in Las Vegas, but it was so sweet and I could tell it was full of sugar, (I think they used sweetened condensed milk) I’ve worked to modify it that its free of refined sugar, and nice and filling!
This is the simplest recipe, and I like to make it without ice as I find I’m sensitive to extremely cold and extremely hot foods:
In the blender, add:
1 Organic Banana
1 Organic Avocado
1 Cup Organic Unsweetened Almond Milk
1 Cup Room-Temperature Coffee (or you can add chilled coffee if you prefer)
1 TSP Organic Maple Syrup
1 Scoop Vegan, (Pea Protein) Sugar-Free Coconut Protein Powder (I like to use this one)
Optional: Handfull of ice subes
Blend it up, put it in your favourite smoothie sipper and enjoy after a workout or as that 3PM snack that you just need to have!
*Note: I don’t recommend drinking this right before a workout as the nutrients from the banana and avocado need some calm time in your tummy to digest properly – enjoy a minimum of one hour before, or have within half an hour after your workout.
